My corona experience

April 29th,

Today is a Wednesday. Usually we would be spending today in class together but sadly we are not. I honestly didn’t think I would miss my college classes this much. Some of my favorite memories are definitely going to be the little parties that our classes had. One of my favorites was Chernice’s birthday. Hunter brought in a cake. Some of us we baffled when we saw the way he cuts cakes. It’s def a unique way to cut a cake. But hey, I guess it is easier to give out smaller pieces this way. The way he had cut that cake reminded me of when I was younger. My great grandparents would always come over on the weekends and bring a cake with a hole in the middle. It was always something that I never understood. why do people make or cut cakes like that? Alright lol enough of me getting side tracked. The purpose of me starting my second day of my journal entry was to share some of the things that I am doing in my free time. One of the things that I have been doing quite frequently is sketching. Sketching is something that I find really relaxing. When I am bored with nothing to do, stuck in my room, I turn to my sketch book. I only sketch every so often and honestly I have to be in the mood for it. But here are some of my sketches I would like to share. Hope you enjoy.

This is one sketch that I have done during my time in quarantine. UP is one of my favorite movies!
This is one of my favorites because it’s kind of all over the place. I plan to add more too it soon. In this sketch these are all childhood movies and shows that I enjoyed watching.
This sketch was honestly random. This sketch reminds me of a resident at the nursing home I worked at. I don’t know if many of you know but I used to work at a nursing home. This job was definitely something that has impacted my life so much. Working there I had a lot of time to talk with the residents. They taught me so many life lessons that I still hold onto today. I miss seeing the residents now that I don’t work there. They never failed to put a smile on my face with the jokes they made or how they would compliment me every time I walk in the room. That does sound strange, but I worked with a lady named Ann. She was the cutest little old lady. She had really bad Alzheimer’s and some people would see this as a negative when working with her but I always saw it as a positive. Yes you would answer the same questions 300 times a day but you had too look at the bright side of things. The things she would say would make me laugh and smile. So, back to when I said she would compliment me every time I walked in the room that is what I meant. I used to wear pink scrubs and she would without fail every time I wore them say “here comes pretty in pink”. I miss Ann a lot and after this quarantine is over I may just go see her.
