My corona experience

May 4th,

Well once again I took another hike. After finishing my zoom meeting for critical thinking I left for my hike. I left around 1 in the afternoon. I drove for around 45 minutes to the hiking trail. The name of the hiking trail was minister creek trail. It was a wonderful hike, except for one point which I will get to. There was multiple options to choose from when taking the hike. You have the south loop, middle loop, and the north loop. The north loop was the longest and was 6 miles long. This is the hike I chose to go on. We hiked the loop counter clockwise so the beautiful view was at the end of our hike. Personally I feel that I enjoyed this hike more then the bear cave hike from one of my previous posts because there was more too it. When hiking I love to take pictures, but at the same time I love to just walk and enjoy getting outside. We walked about 3 of the 6 miles and then stopped and ate lunch that I had packed. It’s nice to just sit down while hiking in the woods and appreciate everything around you. After eating we continued on the hike. We came up to this clearing and could see all the way to the other hill across from us as well as the valley with the creek we were hiking along side before. After getting through all the clear brush we stopped for a second because we heard a noise as well as moving in the bushes. I froze and was thinking what on earth is that. All of the sudden I realized it was a Timber Rattlesnake. It was around 10 feet away from us. Instinctively I wanted to run as fast as I could but I didn’t know if this was the best choice. So I walked pretty darn fast and got out of there. As we continue down the trail every little crinkle in the bushes made me jump. Let’s just say the last 2 miles was the fastest part of my hike. We got to the overlook that all three trails lead to. After relaxing for a moment and taking in the view we continued. We couldn’t decide if we wanted the south loop or the middle loop for the rest of the trip. We ended up thinking we were taking the south loop which was shorter but we took the middle loop. After reaching the car you get this feeling of accomplishment. Six miles isn’t the largest hike but any hike makes you feel this way. After that I headed home. Until another hike. Thanks for listening.
